This happened to me, too. That SS was the snuggliest chick of them all, up until the time he had to be rehomed. I ordered another for spring because I have such good memories of him!

I was fortunate enough to find someone on BYC that is going to breed them, is relatively near us, and was looking for a cockerel so I rehomed him with him and I will eventually get one of his female offspring in return. The guy is also really nice and sends pics of him for us to see. I can't wait to have one of his daughters. Your girl is gorgeous! I love her feathering!

This our speckled sussex named Cassiopeia. She loved to sleep on my arm as a chick and is a great forager as an adult. I'm pretty sure that she is the smartest chicken that I own and will gladly eat all worms before anyone else realizes that they've missed anything, The only slightly negative thing about her is the way she screams in the morning. I don't mean a regular chicken sound...it's more like a person screaming "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" "AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

That is an amazing name! We have three chickens that scream like that . I always sort of hope and pray the neighbors don't hate us...

One of my adult sussex crosses does the same from first light. I thought she was just a drama queen but I guess I can tell the neighbour its common and I'm sorry lol

Why can’t the speckling be dominant... imagine the mixes you could get if it was! Like what if you mixed a SS and Lavender Orpington and it didn’t get the bars, so it was just lavender with white wing tips. It would be so pretty!

This is Kiwi today, she is a week old. I know they aren’t supposed to have all white feathers but it is kinda cyute.

My speckled Sussex, Freckles is 9 mos. old and still has a few white wing feathers. They are beautiful-and looks like she flashes when she flies. Your Kiwi is adorable and reminds me of Freckles
