Spring Granny Square Swap

I don't block squares. Putting them together seems to take care of any unevenness.

I live with a cat, but he doesn't come into my room, where I do most of my crocheting, and rarely goes into the room where I do a bit. My room and clothes sometimes have some kind of chicken detritus, usually bits of straw.

I'd not met anyone before with a guinea pig allergy. I have a life-threatening allergy to rabbits. I think they're related.

I don't have any rabbits either and if the cat is rarely around there's not much chance of dander coating the squares terribly if at all.
And, no rabbits are not related to guinea pigs. I used to bring in rabbits to my science classes and I taught about them in detail. Until 1912 it was thought that rabbits were also a rodent (like guinea pigs). They are now known as lagomorphs and are related to Pikas which kind of look a little like guinea pigs. Hares are also part of the lagomorph order.

This is a good point. I am not allergic to dogs nor do I have any guinea pigs but I am very allergic to horses and cats. Or their dander rather. If anyone is allergic to dogs (or chickens, horrors!) let me know cause and I will wash mine before mailing and put them straight from the dryer into a clean plastic baggie.

I always make sure that people who don't know me, know that I have dogs and cats if they are coming over for a bible study or whatever, and I've been making things with a group at church that gives shawls and baby blankets or afghans away to folks on the prayer lists. There is almost always one of my little fur-floppies nearby when I'm working on a project - I always try to make sure there isn't any pet hair on things ...... but the dander....

Oh aren't you sweet!!! My cat allergies aren't life threatening, like Alethea's rabbit allergy, so if folks forget it's not gonna be that big a deal (not for me anyway) but I sooo appreciate you being so considerate! I'm afraid most folks act like I'm just getting all puffy faced and itchy just to be a huge bother to them. lol It's refreshing to meet folks that are so caring!

yeah LOL me too. I stay really clear of Guinea pigs though! Sounds like everything will be ok with the people in the swap. Will have to check again later before I mail them. All I have is a dog in the house. She is half Viszla and they don't shed. But the other half, Golden Retriever, makes up for it.

I see this computer I am using doesn't have the proper outlet for me to share my pictures. I brought my camera with. I guess I will have to get a cd and then post them. Take care everybody. I need to print off a MIchaels coupon so I can get another color. I am addicted to yarn.

I have 3 dogs & 2 inside kitties. It gets so furry around here, but I vacuum daily. I store all my yarn in zip lock bags even the projects I'm working on when I'm not working on them and my zip lock stashes go into plastic totes. BUT... Smitty's Farm seems to make it's way into my projects no matter how hard I try to keep things clean around here or stuffed in a plastic bag.
