This can be given if they take something toxic
Just have it on hand in case

Egg bound or poison

When they are sick they usually lay down and not interact or eat

How was she looking before she went to bed ? Did she lay an egg yesterday?
These are all just guesses as I’m not a vet

I’m almost sure that she laid an egg
Could you put rosemary with one of the boys and see if that settles her down

I’m so worried about disease though, do you think it’ll be okay if I do?

I’m absolutely sure that she’s laid an egg. She just tended like you said yesterday when she was free ranging she just kept out of the way really, wasn’t as adventurous as she usually is. No concern though walking fine, eating grass as per usual. Do you know where I can purchase this from? I’m in the UK

For the grief and anxiety of your other female, if you have any or can get some soon, give her Bach's Rescue Remedy, and also the homeopathic remedy Ignatia. Both work pretty quickly and are very effective for both animals and people. I've used Rescue Remedy for many years for both wild animals/birds and domesticated and it's a lifesaver, literally sometimes. The Ignatia I've just been using the last 5 yrs or so but brought my goat out of extreme grief and not eating over the loss of her lifelong mate.
Do you know where I can get this in the UK? Thank you so much for your response

@BelovedBirds maybe able to help

Also, Pekin, if from a meat-line, don't tend to live very long. They get large and it's hard on their system.

I'm very sorry you lost your girl like this. It's always heartbreaking, not only fur the human caretakers, but as you see, for the duck companions too, sometimes. :hugs

You should be able to get activated charcoal from a health food store, if you have one local, or online
