Hehehhe I've had my identity stolen twice through my ex credit union but never on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter,,, it's always the ones they say are safest where I get screwed!

OMG you've had your identity stolen twice?!! Oh that just doesn't seem fair at all! What a huge headache that must have been. Really anywhere your info is stored on a computer is fair game for a hacker to steal. That pretty much covers anyplace you do business these days.

Of course then there are the folks that go through your trash or try to trick us into giving them info over the phone or... I think we have got to start handling personal info differently cause the way we are doing it now just isn't working in this day and age.

My peachicks are here!!! My peachicks are here!!!

They got here in about 26 hours from New Mexico and they are soooo cute!!! They look like fluffy white doves except for the little bumps where the crests are coming in. OHHHH I wish I could post pics! We just finished settling them in about an hour ago. They are drinking and eating already so they are doing quite well. I am so tickled!!!

Kate-I'm not going to be able to vote. Would it be helpful to send yarn? I tend to be a pretty conservative crocheter and someone gave me some novelty yarns I probably won't use any time soon.

Kat-I like the Vikings square. it inspires me to make a Dodger Blue something-or-other for my sister.

Did anyone see the movie "The Net" with Sandra Bullock? It's partly about identity theft and is intense.

I've used all my swap yarn and won't get more until I return to Berkeley next week. I have (I think) twenty 6" squares and seven 12" squares with two more started. Meanwhile, I'll make flowers for a hat & scarf set I started making for a friend but won't give her because she's moving to Hawaii.

No swap crocheting for me all week long. I did do a few stitches on DD's afghan and I think I'm on my last ball of yarn, so I'll have to get some more to be able to finish it.

Sunny~ I'm so sorry you are still having tech difficulties, but glad you can at least post from home now. I hope it all gets resolved soon. I can't wait to see peachicks & square pics!!!

Kat~ WOW!!! The Viking square is so impressive!!! The beautiful doll house is as well. What a special gift to give your daughter. It must have meant a lot to her for her to ask you & your DH to make one for your granddaughter as well. Please post pics of it's progress.

Is it all straightened out now? I had a friend who's identity was stolen and it has been a nightmare for her. This was many many years ago before facebook twitter etc times as well.

Cathy~ OMG!!! It's so hard to think about chopping wood just yet, but I know it must be done soon. Good for you for being prepared. Great exercise too! We'll need to do that soon as well. When does the snow usually come in your area?

Alethea~ The flower appliques on the hat & scarf sound adorable! WOW!!! You've completed a lot of swap squares!!!!

I have one set (20) of the 6" sunflower patterns ones and only 1 of the 12" complete. I've been on Facebook since the end of 08' and have never had issues w/ identity thief, but it depends all on how you set up your account and your privacy settings.

Yep 20 is correct. Those doing multiple sets get treated like another participant so they get 1 more back (from each participant) for each extra set they do. Since it really is like signing up as another person when you're doing a whole new set. They will be doing 40 or 60 squares though and you only need to do the 20 squares. I hope that makes sense to everyone. If I haven't explained it well, please let me know. Thanks.

Only 20 squares are required for one set. If participants committed to doing 2 sets then Sunny counted their name twice to make it more fair to them on the receiving end.

I only have about 6 complete, but several more then that in progress. The 6 inch ones I am doing in stages, the crocheting first (all done w/ that) then the weaving (mostly done) then the embroidery (not even started except on that first test square). I get more work done on Saturdays when I'm at work.

No wonder you are so excited! I would be too. Lost a hen to heat today. It was 111 at 5 pm and is still 104.
