I haven't found too many rectangle patterns yet, but did stumble upon this that reminded me of you saying you could make a rectangle out of 2 small granny squares.I have downloaded several 12" patterns from the website posted on an earlier post. There were a lot to choose from. I haven't found any rectangular ones yet but could make up my own. In fact I could take three smaller versions of the "granny" and join them and crochet around them. I could do the same with flowers too. It's fun to look for new patterns and think about what colors to do them in. I haven't thought of yarn yet. We'll have to make a trip to Lancaster sooner or later and can shop then if I don't order on line.

Hi Beth!!! So happy to see you decided to join us! Welcome!Hi everyone! My name is Beth and I'd like to join in. I'm new to chickens and to BYC, but I've been crocheting for 25+ years. I'm looking forward to picking out the patterns and getting started. I taught my co-worker to crochet and she's planning on signing up here in a bit--her name is Diana![]()
We'll be heading to WalMart later today!!

This sounds like great fun, is there a thread that explains how it works or pics of afghans already made?
lol! Welcome to our world!I've gotten some of the yarn and so far I've picked out six 12" squares and four 6" squares. I'm having a hard time making up my mind!![]()
Here's a link to a finished blanket from the last swap (post 1095)... https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/598523/spring-granny-square-swap/1090 but there are a bunch of things you can make with granny squares. Vests, tote bags, slippers, belts... just search the internet for lots of ideas. This sounds like great fun, is there a thread that explains how it works or pics of afghans already made?
