As far as I can figure with mine, whoever lays first gets to pick the box, and the rest just follow suit... So mine has no rhyme nor reason, they use them all, but only usually the same one on a given day. They are so silly.Has anyone figured out what makes a nest box better than another one?
I have two banks of boxes, one on the back wall that use to be the favorite. The bottom row and closest to the corner was it. Then I put up a second bank when I made it possible to split my coop into two separate areas. I did this so I could control breeding. Now the new bank is the favorite, the lower corner closets to the outside. It is an open front coop. ( no wall) just a huge door made out of hardware wire so the air is dry. cold but dry. If someone ever figures out what they want and why please let me know. We will put on a training session and can split the tuition fees. fairly, say 80% for me 20 for you.
It got hereIt is snowing hard. the ground now has a trace on it...Cluckies it is headed your way... ( she lives about 8-10 miles as the crow flies the direction the wind is blowing..)

Hahahah!I would help my wife more with laundry, dishes and other household chores, but I find she likes to feel needed and if I did those things she would no longer feel needed. I could never do that to my wife..
For that reason I do nothing, no matter how badly I want too.

Mine also woke up to her own alarm clock from age 11 on as I wasn't there... But I hear you about the 4am hockey practices, and having to drive home from a game and wait at the arena until after midnight for the bus to come back so we could drive her home. Loved when she got her license! We got to drive straight home from the game, and she had to drive herself to early practice, and home from afternoon practice. Don't miss any of that (except watching her play)I think the hollering is what induced the alarm clock. Then I went out of the house to work. I work - you work. You like playing hockey don't you? Therefore, I work. I could not WAIT til they started driving. Those 4:00 a.m. hockey prctices were much easier on my body once they could drive.

Good plan!By the way, i should tell you guys my plan B for turkeys. If i can't sell DW on BBBs i will just order BBWs in place of one batch of CXs next year and see if she notices until it is much too late
She probably just think they were REALLY BIG chickens haha

I think Kloppers is looking for some turkeys...I am wondering what I will do with my turkeys next year. I had 2 toms and 4 hens this year and now have 22. of the 22, 12 are hens. I could end up with a lot of birds next year.
I would love to have a wood burning stove for ashes to add to my dusting areas. When does your stove arrive klop? Are you planning on saving your wood ashes for winter dusting pits?
Oh my goodness, they are getting to be little kids, always into trouble!I just had to run down to the basement for an emergency cable fix. Turns out those rascally kittens were having a hay day batting at a dangling cable down there and dislodged the cable that comes in from the antenna and goes to the converter from its crimp on end. what a bunch of little goofy fuzz balls!

So I was eating supper, the puppy wanted my green beans. I told him to wait and I would get him some green beans when I was finished. He sat there all nice the rest of the time I was eating. The minute I put down my fork and was finished, he started barking. he wouldn't stop until I got up and got him some green beans. Sometimes he is too smart for his own good! man he loves those green beans! Stinker.
My buddy.
