This has been interesting to read through. c:
I don't have access to other kids of eggs but I've done side by side comparisons of store bought and eggs from girls and noticed a difference. Store eggs were kind of bland in comparison.
Kimivat 2 whole cooked quail eggs today. I swallowed this first one whole cause I am still grossed out. The second one I chewed for a second. I am going to have to do this again...when I can pay attention to the exact taste. Good news is it's not much different than a chicken egg.You can follow @KikisGirls lead and try to find some different eggs at an Asian marketor health food store. I'm now curious to try turkey, quail, and guinea eggs!
My favorite is a fried duck egg and bacon sandwich!!!I've got duck eggs, Chicken eggs, and turkey eggs, waiting for my Guineas to start laying. I prefer duck eggs over chicken eggs when it comes to frying them, Fried duck eggs for some reason taste better to me, Although they don't make the best scrambled eggs, Turkey eggs I don't like, They're pretty rubbery/chewy, I haven't tried scrambling them yet though... Can;t wait to try some Guinea eggs~
I'm hungry now!I did the taste test with guinea and chicken eggs. Thankfully I'm not a short order cook because I wasn't able to cook them consistently, but both were made with soft yolks. I should have cooked the guinea eggs just a tad longer to get the tops white but I'd already overcooked the bottoms because they were so thin.
My chickens just started laying and one of the first eggs I cracked had a big wash of blood inside.I gave that one to the dog.
The guinea eggs have really hard shells and do taste different to me. The white is thinner and the yolk is rich with a slightly nutty taste. The chicken eggs tasted like normal eggs and as you can see, the white is much fuller looking. I preferred the soft pillowy white of the chicken egg and the rich flavorful yolk of the guinea egg.
