He's going to Kelly/Happy Chooks with one of the girls...I'm starting to regret this decision

CHeryl - you need to tell Kelly/Happy Chooks that she needs to keep us supplied with updated photos - it's a requirement !!

Those are BEAUTIFUL pictures! I love hummingbirds. We have several around here, too. They are so fun to sit and watch .... they dive bomb each other, fighting for the feeder! ha Love them!

Joy, I love hummingbirds, thanks for those pictures- mine have all disappeared for the season. They are such funny little things, aren't they?
Jeremy- great pictures- yours are the same age as Skoche and Gus, so I like to compare.
I like Beth, too, the chicken, I mean - this could get really convoluted BTW- BIG girl, and I like the lacing. Alice is pretty, too, I like the contrast on those lighter blues!

Everyone's babies are looking good- Cheryl, how fun! You video people are clever, I have to figure out how to do that!

Beth, I was really surprised how large the chicken Beth has gotten too! She must have just hit a growth spurt or something beause I don't remember her being so "big boned", LOL. The video thing is pretty easy, I have a decent digital camera that also records, then I simply transfer the video file to my computer and upload it (just like you would a picture) using photobucket.com.

I'm glad that our chickies are around the same age, it'll be fun to watch them grow up together!

Joy, I love hummers too. We've got some pretty green ones with red chests that visit our feeders, though there's no way I can get a decent shot of those birds like yours. I'm not that fast!

UGH, back to work now...

Well, shoot ..... Jeremy, I thought I posted but I did not. I love your pictures, and your birds look wonderful! I guess I was just sitting back and admiring the pictures and forgot to post a note!

Very very nice, Jeremy!

I want Beth!

Thank you Kathy! I have to agree,

I feel very fortunate and priveleged to have gotten so many wonderful ones from Joy. After I did a head count yesterday I feel pretty lucky too that I ended up with so many pullets!

It leaves me at a sort of crossroads though, which cockerel do I hang on to? The blue, black or splash? Edmund is my favorite, for his splash color and his personality. The other two boys are a bit wary at this point, probably because I haven't been giving them as much loving as Edmund...

The blue is massive though. He's nearly as big as some of my 7 month old pullets, which is amazing. I'm honestly not too keen on the blacks.

Anyone think of a name for the blue goliath of a chick? It's gotta be an English man's name that is sort of synonomous with being large,

OR a place, landmark, etc. that's pretty grandious.

For those who've commented on Alice, she is my absolute favorite at the moment, she's a bit shy, but her color to me is just beautiful. I'll just have to give her some extra special treats to make sure she stays friendly. Does the Orpington standard call for a darker blue color, or is Alice's plumage acceptable?

Joy, I just reread your post and saw the question about eye color. I'm almost positive some look lighter due to my camera settings and the time of day/place I took the pictures. I was sitting with my back to the sun and the birds were out in front of me, directly in the sunlight. That combined with the flash is what probably made the eyes look brighter. I will look this afternoon though to be sure.
