apparently I have super hatchers... today is day 19 and I had to go somewhere this morning so when I got back I was going to lock down, take out the turner and add more water etc... I got home, they are ALL pipped or zipped and one hatched already... think they could have waited for me!!! soon as they are done, they are going out under the broody who ruined her eggs, day 27 for her. so she gets wet babies and egg shells shoved under her tonight. she will be soooo happy!! before she came here she was almost through a set when someone decided she didnt need to hatch any and smashed all her eggs, she was heartbroken and screamed for 2 weeks. I let her set on a few and she got off them and then went in the wrong box when I was not home so they didnt make it. she will be happy to have 7 to raise up now.,

one last one to hatch, two of them shrink wrapped and are all curled up still, hard to get those ones dry and fluffed but she will get the last 3 tonight, she already has the first 3, sitting tight and clucking away like a happy hen lol.

I got out and took a few photos of the birds. Most of my adults were lost but I have a lot of juveniles of various ages.

Ok Color experts, help me out here. is this chick a splash or blue?? it hatched yellow just like the other one, same color legs and everything, now its getting lacing and looks like a light blue... ??? is it splash or blue??

fluffed and dried, it is yellow, my flash washed it out a little

the hatch mate, hatched yellow and looked just like the other one, I know this one is splash

I am not a expert but I have one hatched from Roger like that. It is a blue splash. There are white splash and blue splash. I have had lots of splash with lacing.

It looks cute..I bet it is going to be a pretty color and be a reverse looking splash..will be very interesting to see this fella grow out..cute for sure.

how old is it now? did it end up looking mostly splash or retain the blue coloring?

I just took the pic on July7th. I have had them like this before. They will be splash but not white with black or dark blue spots but they will have a blue hue with blue splashing. 8 week old chick
