Monty's son, Moose, at 11 months just coming out of a molt. He is 1/2 English , and huge. I can't wait to see him with all his feathers in. He will be siring chicks this winter, as I am very pleased with the 1 pullet I have by him from a test breeding.

50 years breeding and showing standard bred poultry . ABA Life Member #7, and Master Exhibitor. SOP "Heritage" and Imported English Buff Orpington Large Fowl. The " Living Sunshine Girls." NPIP TP # 56-450 AI clean. No eggs, or day olds
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" A very few pairs available in the next few weeks.

I like your dotties nice wide hard tail feathers. I would like your Orps tail feathers better if they were wider I think. I am not sure. A rear picture might help. She is a pretty girl. She just might need more development time. I do like your girl.

What do you all think of the shape of this lady's tail? Black Orp…not the dotte

The Wyandotte has nice wide tail coverts of good substance. The black needs wider, heavier substance tail coverts. She then would have a smooth top line, instead of the dip in front of her main tail feathers.I select cockerels for wide tail coverts that cover the base of the main tail feathers. They throw females with a smooth top.

Get out! So my photo bomber has a better tail...who knew? Vickie, thanks for the specifics on the dip, that is exactly what I was wondering about, this girl is the smallest of my Orps too. If Santa brings me that old fashioned scale I've been coveting, I'll have a better idea how much everyone weighs. :fl

They will surprise you on their weights...for example..in the picture just by looking are her I would say she weighed about 8 lbs. in reality she is probably 6.5 - 7 lbs.

I know my big blue rooster i thought was going to weigh at least 12 lbs. but when I actually put him on the scale he weighed 10.5 lbs. Those feathers will trick you!
