Alice is now my third Orpington who has tried to go broody and she (thinks she) means business. I even tempted her with some scratch and she wouldn't budge!

I ended up pulling her off of the one egg she was sitting on and moving her to where the rest of the flock was. Silly chicken.

Sandy, she's a pretty girl. I've grown very fond of the Blacks. I absolutely adore my Thelma and wish I had more like her or your girl.
 
I am so sick of broodies I could scream! Every day I have another one! Every single Silkie hen I have is broody. One blue Orp has chicks as of today. I tossed out the eggs and gave her chicks, just to get it over with. Last count I had 14 broodies, either on eggs or with chicks. Some I have tossed back into their pens. I am SICK of broodies, and sick of trying to break them!
