Hey Joy, I would be interested in that recipe too (if it's uncomplicated

). Did you say your favorite is the chamomile? Do you remember the pink soap that used to have the lady embossed on it? I believe that was chamomile... My aunt always had that in her house. Taking me back.

Edited to add: I am growing Loofa this year, maybe we can get the homemade soaps and loofa together for a date.

Tricia - it LOOKS complicated, but it really isn't. I have a friend who grows loofa and she makes soap and somehow wraps the loofa around a bar and sticks it together somehow. LOL.

I promise I will try to call you this evening or tomorrow - I've been swamped trying to work, set things up in Charlotte, chickens, chicks, hatching, dogs, etc.

A lot of people pour soap into the Loofa, its great that way..

Hey Tammy

Are you SURE you wanna join the rest of us soap-making fools? LOL. Let me know if you do. I can send you my basic recipe, directions, instructions, list of needed materials and some links for where you can buy your base oils, oils, etc. Julie probably has a lot more links than I do for things such as fragrance oils, pigments, etc. Don't let the instructions freak you out. THey look a lot more complicated than it really is...just ask Julie. Once you make it a time or two, it is old hat.

I wanna be a fool! Email to: [email protected] TIA

and see all this talk has pulled in Tricia

Maybe that is how she got the soap in the Loofah !! I never thought of that - thanks for pointing it out.

Okay Tammy and Kassandra - I'll e-mail to you both this evening after work. I have to go pick my doggies up at the "spa." They got a bath, toenails done, and their first shave/clip of the year. I will be shunned for the rest of the evening now.

(of course the shunning won't begin until AFTER I feed them their dinner

D'oh! right under my nose! LOL I knew it had to be close by, because suddenly everyone was talking. Somehow I glazed over your post Julie. Thanks. I found it in England for 25 pounds, but not really believing it is in stock, I'm contacting the sales by email and holding my breath. Thanks so much for pointing us all at that book.

Why not just go straight to the source and get some chicks from them? I don't know if Julie still ships eggs or not.

I did contact each of them first. Unfortunately neither sells eggs and both have a waiting list for chicks plus their prices are little outside my budget. Otherwise I would LOVE to get some of their chicks.

I got mine from either ebay or Abe's Books I think....can't remember for sure.

Hmmmm, I may have you bring it to a chicken auction so I can see it. Or, I could get off my duff and come visit you.

Either one will be fine.

Hey Julie - here's one of the babies from my babies from your babies.

He's still young but is a pet who lives in my backyard and on my backsteps. I think he has a bit of a wry tail or else it sags to the side, so he's never going in a breeding pen.

Big Blue Boy

I also have my "American" Orps which are really mixes from every BYC breeder as well as offspring that have some English but not 100%. I don't know why, but I personally just don't like the splash, especially the splash roosters. I know I should and I know that if I use them in my breeding pen I can guarantee blue hatches (which are the ones I really prefer) but I just don't like the splash. I guess it's because they free range and get so dirty looking.

In any event, here's three splash babies (cockerls)
