HI Ya'll, been reading the posts on this thread for quite some time. Love the thread and all your beautiful birds!
So, there has to be 50 birds shown by 5 breeders at each show they are presented at? Would love to help out if possible.

It would be one time. The APA has a qualifying meet and those are the numbers they require. The qualifhying entry has to be of equal numbers of males and females and old and young. There has to be 50 that meet the Standard description in color and type, not just 50 birds . It is better to have more than 50 birds as some may have faults that are too great to overlook....or some that can't make it to the show for some reason. In any event is is better to have more than required.

Maybe it is just me, but it seems like the bantam chocolates are closer to the American standard than the large fowl are.

What possibility would there be of getting a new color introduced with a combination of say 3 bantam and 2 large fowl breeders? Or do they all have to be the same?

If they don't meet the APA Standards, they will not make it into the SOP. I am not sure what you mean by the last sentence. The APA does not divide breeders into bantam or large, they look at the end product, which in this case will be bantams.

Ok. What I meant was the bantam chocolates look closer to the American standard than the large fowl chocolates, therefore would probably be ready to present sooner.
