The Old Folks Home

Uggh. 5 stops in town and finally home with groceries unloaded, feed unloaded. Still have to put a lot away but I'm always glad to have that job done for the month. I usually buy main groceries once a month and then fill in with milk and snack foods as needed. Trips to town usually every 10 days if necessary but we buy on line a lot for dog and cat food and have it delivered to the gate. Wish I could do that with my freeloading chickens' food. Our vets office is on the main interstate highway on the West side, which means, you have to drive north past it on the interstate and then double back to the south in order to turn into their parking lot. Talk about a pain. We asked them once why the state didn't cut a turn lane for them in the interstate and they said they wouldn't because they claimed there wasn't a need for it due to the turn lane down the interstate about a half a mile out of your way. So we have to get on the interstate, get up to interstate speed of 65-70. Drive like a mile and a half, driving past their office then doubling back in order to turn into their parking lot. Talk a bout a cluster.......well you know.

We drink regular coffee here but decaffeinated tea. I really should drink decaf coffee but feel as thought I've given up enough foods that I enjoy in the name of good health. Due to my rheumatic heart disease they advised me to drink decaf and I do with the exception of my two cups of coffee in the morning. What I hate is if I drink it after noon, I'm up all night which is bad. So I consider myself lucky and drink coffee when I get up.

Found the Aspercream with LIdocaine. Planning on trying it this afternoon late when my feet are usually throbbing. Keeping my fingers crossed.:fl

Because of the effects on the brain, per Dr Daniel Amen, ADD/ADHD specialist.

I enjoy decaf and use great foods like mushrooms and tumeric to fight the Big C fight for me. ALso a minimum of 1 cup of green tea every day. LC food is far better for the heart and the cancer fight: dump the breads and pastas, etc then sub lots of colorful vegies and a few fruits instead. The number of micronutrients in the veg and fruits are too numerous to list. Sooooo, I eat a few black/blue grapes but pass on the green ones. A real apple, never applesauce.

WHen I finially left the job from hell, a migraine hit like no other......lol, because I only drank coffee at work...... I do drink caffeine (reg coffee) if I need the jolt to my brain, to quicken its thinking, but only in emergency. Overall, I am trying to be kind to my brain.
Green tea is very good for you for sure.

I roast my own coffee beans so hope they are even better for me.

We were sitting here on the sofa and had a sonic boom rattle every window in the house and shake the floor.

Went outside to look for a mushroom cloud and all I could hear was the roosters screaming their little heads off.

had a friend experience something like that.....

someone's antique explosives went off.... a bunch were being stored in an old VW van.

busted out all windows in an almost 1 mile radius. No one died though.

Was it a Sonic Boom? We used to hear them when I was growing up. We were at the point that the fighters taking off from Mather Airbase would go supers Sonic.

North of Woodland there is a Quarry and they let Mythbuster test something that involved an explosion. The shock wave moved through the sub soil rocks and caused a shock wave that broke some walls and windows in a nearby town....Let me see if I can find the story....https://techcrunch.com/2009/03/26/r...hatters-small-town-windows-up-to-a-mile-away/

Residents of Esparto, California had their windows shattered by an explosion created as part of a Mythbusters segment designed to see whether or not it was truly possible to knock someone’s socks off. According to KCRA news, the Mythbusters crew ignited 500 pounds of ammonium nitrate about a mile outside of Esparto that resulted in an explosion that “was a lot bigger than they expected.”

Nobody in the town had been notified that Mythbusters would be filming nearby, a decision that Esparto Fire Chief Barry Burns claimed was made in the name of safety:

“Mythbusters is supposed to be a really popular show. Everybody would have been out there. We would have had to cancel it because it would have been too dangerous.”

What a riot. The windows in the door to our deck shook.

Pretty sure it was a sonic boom.

We have Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster MO. There are always real cool stuff flying over. I saw two B2's this week out being exercised and not unusual to see military planes and helios flying over.

I read on the internet just now that there is a Boeing plant in St Louis that tests out their passenger planes and takes them super sonic at times so who knows.

We're sure some idiot is saying "well go super here, nobody lives down there in this part of Missouri!"

Yeah, right.:rant
