Hi, we smoked two turkeys and a duck but just the two of us for Thanksgiving which is also my 37th anniversary champagne and smoked duck, sweet potatoes and apples with rum sauce, and fresh turnip greens out of the garden.

Thanks Bob, I'm thinking about Turkey poults to let loose on my property after they grow up. Do you have a breed suggestion for me.

I like heritage Turkeys for sustainability, but I wouldn't expect them to survive in the wild as they've had those instincts pretty well bred out of them. For eating, the BB types are probably the best as they grow fast and you can harvest them in 8-14 weeks. Heritage generally go to 24 weeks.
