@Miss Lydia my neighbor and I became pretty close over the last 18 months. They are about twice my age, and somewhat care for me like their own kin. They are also very much in to nature and living with animals, especially birds. Once I got the Pekin, they where over everyday to come sit in the yard with me and just watch the ducks. It was our group therapy from w/e the day delt us. You might imagine how thrilled they where to find out we where getting ducklings.

Sadly, they moved yesterday. They where talking about renting a truck just to move the cage so I offered to put it in my truck and move it for them.

Cindy, my neighbor, started crying and talking about how she would miss our family and all our animals. So I reached in and gave her a hug, cracked a couple jokes to try and lighten her mod some. She leaned back with a smile, and asked if I thought if some of my birds could use the cage. When I told her yes she got all excited telling me stories of the birds in the past who've used the cage.

It was quite an emotional exchange. I'm happy to have it, and she's happy it's going to a good use. It needs a bit of tlc, but that's no problem (i can afford tlc, but not a cage that size ).
