I sometimes miss my muscovys... and then I remember the spring time and the terrifying flapping and snapping and I remember why I sold them on. That could be the same reason those 9 are being given away 🤣
Probably it is full Spring here. I have no experience with Muscovys, only Mallard derived ducks. Since my focus is eggs, I think they are not for me. Speaking of eggs, i m taking a trip over the weekend. Poorly planned as I have a hatch starting while I'm gone. I did find someone to egg sit. I've A pet sitter but egg sitting requires special skills. I'm so lucky to have two people willing to egg sit for me. Hopefully they stay in their calcium prisons till I return.

Yes they lack the egg laying abilities but they are the absolute best natural incubators. A friend decided to let his muscovies breed up last year rather than buying other peoples to stock his freezer. 20 nests later... it was glorious to see hundreds of ducklings running around. Are these you orphan eggs hatching?
