I always thought that they did but after reading up on porcupines they will take their tails and back up into whatever is scaring them, shake their tail and the lose quills come off into its victim. It said that once in the victim it has several barbs on each quill and the quill continues to go deeper and deeper so you should seek medical attention. I was surprised that you could touch this one as I thought it could have tried to back into you and hurt you. They dig into the ground so they are fully protected by spikes when they feel threatened like this one, there is no budging them when they do. They thankfully can't throw their quills, they would be deadly if they could! Doesn't America have porkie pines that shoot quills?
Oh I didn't touch her, held hand close for size comparison. If I touched she would burrow down deeper and likely I eould get prickedI always thought that they did but after reading up on porcupines they will take their tails and back up into whatever is scaring them, shake their tail and the lose quills come off into its victim. Oh thanks for clarifying that. The video made it look like you were petting her and that was what shocked me.Oh I didn't touch her, held hand close for size comparison. If I touched she would burrow down deeper and likely I eould get pricked
I'm still busy, digging out pepper and chillie plants and potting them. And i'm still working on turning my patio into a greenhouse/sunroom…
I am trying to rescue as many plants as i can and i have pots and room for. I didn't know that peppers are perennial and that older plants yield a much larger harvest.Right... We got 2 of those too, only they are taller and have a nice aroma![]()
Actually, the orange and that flamed look of the cabinets look nice together.Nope.
Still trying to finish the inside of our house and getting things outside ready for cold weather and workin my kitchen manager job plus 2 house cleaning jobs and trying to find time for friends and family.
I finially have a kitchen sink! The orange is temporary until we have time to cover it. But i kinda like it for now anyway.
I'm just glad i don't have to wash dishes outside or in the bathroom anymore.View attachment 3670076View attachment 3670077View attachment 3670078View attachment 3670079
Everything is bigger in Texas! - That "house" is most likely their garage…IS your house that huge?
Pictures?I guess they do! I have someone on my bus route that has a yard like that with skeletons playing cars, pulling another one out of a coffin and tons of others doing various things. The kids love looking at it. I just wonder where in the world the one on my route stores all of that stuff as they do it every year. They have a skeleton of a dog and even a duck! Now that's going a little too far! LOL
