What happened?! I hope your flock is okay. :hugs

I've been doing okay I guess. The family all got sick for about 2 weeks, and now it's my turn. Other than that not much special to report back about.
Well, I didn't do quarantine like I should've... turns out the bird I got from her had some sort of respiratory infection that spread to mine. Just the chickens, my other bird species are 100% fine thank goodness. I've never seen my poor chickens sneeze so much. I culled out the one that brought it here and they still sneeze but the meds I have for them are helping a bit. They seem to be getting better by the day. :fl

Okay ladies, sorry about the late show of pictures.

So as most of you know, I've got a bad habbit (or so I was told it's bad) of stalking CL for birds. The only source of frizzles I know around here is the breeder I got Flip & flop from, but her birds are expensive ($30 @ > 4 weeks). So I went to CL. I ran a search on "frizzle" and a few came back.

This little lady was the only one under $25, plus she's already laying. I reached out to @Suburbanchickenmom and we made some plans to meet up. I was pleasantly surprised when all the sudden the lil' fluff ball was free! She wanted to be sure the chicken went to a good home, and I passed the test lol. :D

She does have some damages to her feathers as she was getting picked on by her previous flock. She was the only bantam and the LF girls didn't accept her very well. There is one location on the wing that some skin was broken, but in the grand scheme it's worse visually than it is physically. Most damage is just to the feathers. Someone is getting kitty food treats for the next little while. :)

She's pretty sweet though she's still a bit unsure about her surrounding. That's okay, she'll fit right in here soon. I kept her in the bathroom last night to give her a quiet place to relax. This morning I introduced the Silkies to her. I was thinking she would be timid, and the Silkies are rather harmless. Well I was wrong... F&F were the ones who were scared lol. That's her box to hide in, not theirs. :gig

Hopefully her feathers start growing back in soon. Like I said it's not bad, but there is a good amount of the flight feathers that have been stripped clean to the quill.

I need a name for her. I'm thinking of naming her Sara in honor of her previous owner. She looks like a Sara to me, what do you folks think?
She's cute!

Also, my calls are laying now. And one hen is actually a drake.. So, 2 pastel drakes, 1 pastel hen, and 1 grey hen. :D

She's cute!
Glad to have met you and to know she’s with a good family. I know I hope she heals up well and things grown back. Poor girl. She just takes some time. She got stuck with the name frizzle here lol. We got her with another named peppermint and she was mocha but didn’t fit her. So I’m sure she’ll be happy with whatever name!

That really stinks! I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully the rest of your babies are okay. How's Baby doing? Did he get sick too?

Hi there Sara, and thanks for stopping by! I try to keep the thread pretty active with pictures and stories, and you are always welcome to stop in and hang out.

To hep with feather repair, I'll be giving her a small amounts of cat food daily. It'll help increase her protein intake, which is what is needed for feather growth. On top of that she'll receive game bird feed that is at 22% protein.

She was pretty quite last night, but she has been more talkative this morning. She sure is cute! I'll still send you pictures via text, but you can be sure there will always be something here to see about her. I love my birds, and love to talk about them almost as much lol. :D
