:clap Gee now i'm jealous of all your animals! How does your guinea do?
She's amazing! Very annoying at times, very loud most of the time, but amazing at the same time. We started out with 5, but 4 of them died young. I almost rehomed her so she could be around other guineas. I really didn't like raising the keets, so I wasn't wild about getting more.

She ended up bonding with our Silkies though. Acting very motherly to them, and defending them when it came to the pecking order. Watching her break up the 2 Silkies is one of the cutest darn things I've seen. She just walks up and puts her neck/head between them, then puts her beak on the ground. I think it confuses the Silkie as they all the sudden stop and just watch her.

I like her enough I named her after my Great Grandma. The person I've the most in the world. I can't say I would do it again, but Pearl will always have a place here.

She rarely flies, but when she does it's about awe inspiring. She is solid white with long wings, and freaking rocket precision. Super super SUPER fast too. You know the whole "How to keep an idiot busy" thing? Yeah, that's what trying to catch a guineas is like lol. For the record, I've been that idiot with her more than I'll admit. Now I just wait till it's dark to try and inspect her.

:yuckyuck My chickens tend to follow me begging for food, they go so far as to cross the bridge over to my property :rant
You mean something like this? They are blocking the door closed trying to get the feed in my hand.

I finally got out of the door, and found this while I was opening the turkey pin.

That's too funny!
I tried keeping the feed in the shack , but found the ducks neck deep in it.
:gig I plan on building a shed and hatching out all my hens fertile eggs... (he have 18 hens and 18 pullets.. or more )
I just got my first layed eggs not long ago, and if it was not for the fact I have eggs incubating, I probability would have tried hatching them. I told myself they're not fertile, and that I should eat them. Then I saw the bullseye and wanted to instantly put it back in the shell. I have had addictions before, but this one is just crazy! :lau

I'll try and find the page I was reading in regards to the potential black feathers/markings. It also said the MW was a cross of a Royal Palm and White broad breasted. Looking at an adult RP vs the adult "MW" they had, there was differences, but mainly in size. Most of the breeders where all white, but at least 1 looked like a mini RP.

I do however prefer pure genetics and preservation. For the price point, and my current lack of experience I'm not complaining. Mutt or not, I'm going to love them. :)
Lol, Trim. Love them indeed! I like all turkeys, regardless of size or color. I had selected the MW due to size and friendliness to people and to not being adverse to other animals being around.

If it had been left up to me, I would have more turkeys than chickens. I had even sold most of my chickens with the express intention of having more turkeys. Plus, I only have about an acre and a half and downsizing was a bonus.

Then a younger sister misinterpreted my reasoning and plans - and sent me 20 day-old chicks (with 2 days warning). Therefore, I now have approximately 27 chickens (versus the 2 oldsters I had kept (8 yrs old), 2 laying hens, and a 5-yr-old rooster). Now I have a total of 8 roosters out of the 27 - (so far, since two are still unsexed). I had a few others I had hatched out, but those have already been rehomed.

ALL of them are here strictly for eggs and/or as PETS. No one gets eaten for dinner. At least, not by me as I have and will probably again re-home some of the ones I now have. If someone else eats them, that's ok.

So far, it's been hard deciding which breeds I like the most. She had sent 4 trio sets so I COULD breed if I wanted to. Speckled Sussex, Dominiques, Black Jersey Giants, and Light Brahmas. I also have 2 California Whites and a pair of Columbian Wyandottes - to go along with all my "extras".

This is not counting my 8 turkeys, 3 ducks, 8 ferrets, a dog, a cat, and a bunch of fish.

How things change......
 :lau

well after reading how many animals every one has I don't feel so bad people think I am crazy . I have 17 geese 16 chickens 2 ducks 3 barn cats 1 dog a parrot and a 50 lb sulcata tortoise. lol. they eat better then I do. oh I forgot 2 white quail haaaaa .
Animal people are NEVER crazy!!

Slightly demented is closer to the truth. :D

I Don't have as much but people do say i'm crazy. I have 1 dog, 2 cats, a couple deer, a lot of chickens, 5 ducks (i'm adding 10 more this spring!),I had 4 parrots but I sold 2 and the other 2 died a couple days ago (they were old and one bumped their head) and hundreds of fish, along with a pair of bullfrogs that we have at our creek!
