Bless your heart I hope this will get him better. Check again in a couple days to make sure you got all the pus out but I’d give it at least a few days from the trauma before messing with it again.

It was her idea to begin with. I'm just trying to convince her to spend the money on herself. She always puts everyone first, but I'd like her to come first this season. We both adore the breed, but both of the dogs look at me as their lead. Since she can have a dog at work, it would give her a good bonding opportunity without me being there to get in the way. .

It went very well! That pimple like thing... a lot of puss came out and hard skin like things Along with some blood... I dug SO deep into his foot and got out as much as I could... it was all skin and blood and it stung him. We will continue to give antibiotics and ointment along with a bunch of treatment. My dad helped me this time so it went better than last time

Do you think it would be better and/or faster to just go the injectable route at this point? Injectable penicillin is pretty easy to get.

Sure would be worth trying not meaning to step on your toes @shawluvsbirds but he needs something big time! And she’s need to read up on how to give a duck an injection in the breast.

No toes stepped on at all. . if you did I didn't feel it.
I just could not remember if she'd already been giving him oral antibiotics or not.
I agree.. .at this point he needs to get antibiotics the fastest possible way. I would think that would be by injection.. if that is possible.

I think she gave hers some oral antibiotics.. But I believe she started them before she started in on removing the bumble. I do recall the duck getting better.

Yep, I gave pills orally 2x per day. I started the same day or the night before I removed the bumble, if I remember correctly, but that was due to an error on my part. The duck healed fine and has not had a relapse.
