The injured turkey died last night... I'm not sure what happened yet. Just incase it's contaminated in waiting till chores are done to touch it.

I missed how it was injured... but you are most likely safe from anything contagious..

I had a turkey hen that took on a hawk. She was ripped open across her breast there was a flap of skin and feathers about 6 inches by 10 inches hanging, I tried sewing it back.. poor bird. She seemed ok and I thought she was fine.. then whammo.. she was dead..

they are real good at acting normal until the last second.. most likely just an infection from some nasty disease Gods web footed feathered plague on mankind gave her.

Thanks guys.

@duluthralphie it had a broke break previously, but was picked at pretty bad yesterday. She was pinned in the yard, then in the coop over night this morning she was laying flat in the crate. The reason I'm concerned about her being sick is she was generally fine yesterday, besides the picking on her. The break was already broke and healing. Yesterday the scab was just pulled off.

Does that sound like enough stress/shock to just die over night?

Cold damp bone penetrating cold!
Exactly! 40° in low humidity is warmer than 50° here. Good grief, don't stand in the wind here on cold days either. Cuts right through your cloths. When I say "your" I obviously mean anyone in the world besides Ralphie. ;)
