Not uncommon to see some blood. Your going to have many eggs to feed your family!!
I feel like each egg is a reward for being patient. When I first started researching quail it was for egg production. I had no clue at the time ducks and chickens would end up being my birds of choice. I also had no idea how much longer I'd have to wait vs quail. I can't even describe how grateful I am for these eggs. I mean, how awesome is it to have eggs for breakfast that are only a couple of hours old?

These are their backs, obviously. ;) The 2 pullets are a bit different. One more gold while the other more brown. The cockerel has the darker rust patches.

The lacing in them is unique. There's not a bold gold/black line, but more of a fade. The black is actually not black at all. It's a very dark brown. They have a very artistic look to them.

I love my quail eggs I hard boil them and take them to work . my favorite eggs are the ducks.
