We had a little snowstorm yesterday. Nothing like your first real snow of the season. Last year we had several in November and December. Not this year.

I'm having sympathy shivers for you.

How’s mama and chicks doing Chris? Haven’t seen much from you today.

Well I got another coon in the trap just after dusk. As much as I don't like taking life, I'll be setting the traps for at least the next week. If I wanted to feed the wildlife I'd choose a less taxing method than my chickens.

It's been a long day here.
Mom and chicks are doing pretty good. I'll try and get some more pictures tomorrow. Those Marans chick aure do have some nice colors. 55's do too, but that gold on brown is just fancy looking to me.

I had to go to TSC yesterday. The sky has some interesting shapes and colors going on.

The Phoenix eggs have 100% fertility. I'm going to call the guy I got them from and let him know today. He very generously gave me double what I asked for because he wasn't sure on the fertility. I think I'll send him a little thank you card too. I only ended up paying $1 per good healthy egg. Those Marans cost me $5 each and at least 7 didn't even form an embryo, maybe more. Gotta remember to say thank you and show a little praise to people who deserve it.

That’s so pretty Chris. I hate your battling coons. If your coops are secure though maybe just ignore. We have them here too but rarely come in the daytime. At night everyone is locked up tight.

Meaning to say it’s most likely a losing battle there will always be some to replace the ones you catch.
