It's an Amish mill called Mazelin's Feed Mill. They also sell tucker and other brands for feed they aren't comfortable making themselves. I have to do some figuring this weekend to decide if it's smarter to just modify their broiler feed or have them make my custom blend. I don't really have the capacity to store and transport a ton...

These guys don't use fertrell, but they have worked hard to copy it. And they use essentially the same recipes as sunrise. I'm pretty sure I can use their broiler/grower as a base to mix a good starter. Once I have enough caffeine in me, I'll fire up excel and start working the math. Once I get to what I think is the right solution, I'll shoot it over to Jeff Mattocks to review and revise as necessary. If you'd like, I can give you sunrise's recipe broken down to the 50# level.

Today is the first day with all the ducks are loose in the back yard. I'll go a head and admit, I'm a bit nervous! This is the first time I've let any of the birds minus the Pekin out w/o supervision after the hawk attacks. However, The pen in the front had them on display all day and I didn't see any hawks to speak of. At least in the back they'll have plenty of place to hunker under and be safe.

Now going to bed tonight... That might take a few extra minutes tonight. They've only been herd training for a couple of day. Though I am surprised how fast the Runners got with that program. I have to get somewhat close to the ground and constantly talk with the Anconas. The runners are more like directing air traffic. Just point my arm one way and they go the other.
