Okay I retrieved the body, and after looking at it closer, I do no think it i mucus. What I saw this morning, was thicker that what is there now. What I am seeing now is about as thin as water, and has more of a red tint vs brown.

That does look more red.

I don't usually bother. In fact, I don't get the opportunity. I've only ever had one other chick die from unknown causes since the incubator went in the bin. I believe that chick died due to head trauma.

Hmm. I thought it looked to come from the nostril too.
