Thanks!

Thanks again! The eggs where not marked, so I'm not sure what is still there. The breeds are O Shamo and Tomaru (long crower).
@WVduckchick is sending me some eggs from her stock, and should yield much better results than I've been having so far. I've been down in the dumps with how I feel about hatching eggs, but after taking with her, I'm getting excited again. She has some very pretty birds!
I'm glad you're getting some better eggs! I pray they give you much better results! :)

Morning Elly, how are you today? I'm not doing particularly well right now. I lost someone very close to me yesterday and even though I know he's with God now, it still hurts.

And to expose that I too lurk in different places. Do some research on Beta Glucan in chicken feed. Oats are a super food because of them up to about 15% (that number is widely debated) above what ever the real number is, beta glucans act as a nutrient blocker and chickens can actually starve to death. Don't take my word for it, do your own research, the information is out there.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Bob. :hugs
You and your family will be in my thoughts.

Thank you for the tip on Beta Gluca. I'll have a read on it today.

:hugs
Good morning All!! Happy Thursday. Bob very sorry for your loss:hugs So feeding oats is a no no? Is this for all poultry? Chris those pictures are awesome! Guinea whisper that is so cute. Great pic of your NN with her third wattle. She’s adorable.

Oats & Barley are a super food for poultry up to a point. They are an example of too much of a good thing can be bad. They can be chemically treated to prevent the problem but then they lose the advantages that they bring to the table.

Thanks Patti and Chris.:hugs

ETA: This is a nice read from the guy I use as my nutritionist.

Great pics! :love You seem to be VERY good at taming birds. Mine are NEVER quite that tame.
They're friendly but they won't let me hold them like that, for sure!
Lol, I've been "taming" her for a few months now by picking her up at least 3 times daily. I'll give you a tip if you want a pick holding one. (It's almost cheating) Take the guinea in the house for the picture. Pearl is not the familiar with the house, so the safest place in her mind is on me. ;) That being said, I couldn't do this a month ago. It takes a long time to build a bond with a guinea

Good mornin Patti! I can't believe I waited so long to get the NN. They're a bit strange and somewhat rare in my area, both reasons it should have been on my radar lol. They are seriously some of the sweetest chicks I've met though, and that's is their best attribute in my opinion. I wish I had some pictures of the bus stop yesterday. Watching the 5-6 year olds was heart melting. It didn't bother the chicken at all. :D

:lau That's funny! I am very aware of how guineas are. I have over 30 of them and they are wild (VERY wild) and noisy. :gig
That's so cool you have the ability to tame your birds down that much! Good for you! :)
Funny how when you bring them in the house they're so scared that they'll just sit there on your arm afraid to move! :gig
