We went to go see the Scovies again yesterday. There was only about 8 when we first got there, but within 10 minutes there was an easy 50 birds. Egrets galore too! I almost had an Egret eat from my hand.

This was one of my favorites. It was much more reserved than the one taking food from my hand. The simple coloring just gives it an elegant look in my opinion.View attachment 1912262 View attachment 1912263

This one was hissing and take food like a snake strike.

They are so pretty! :love Loved all the pics! That is really nice that you have Muscovies everywhere there. :)

Not really Elly they are public enemy number 1 in Florida:(
Well yeah, I understand the public hates them, but I mean that it would be nice to have wild Muscovies running around everywhere. Other people may not like it but I surely would. :D
I wouldn't mind if I had lots of wild Muscovies running around here, on top of the ones I already have. I would love that! Mmmm, Muscovies, the more the better! :D ;)
I LOVE Muscovies! :love:love:love:love:love

Howdy folks!

It's horrible how they are looked at down there. Did you know it's legal to kill them on sight? That's the same way they are with pythons... Scovey... Python... Scovey... Python... Has anyone ever heard of a Scovey killing and/or eating deer, or gators, children? It just doesn't seem to have the same weight between the two species. I don't want to see a python die either, but I can at least understand the killing of one.

That's so horrible!!! :( Poor Muscovies! I wish I could rescue them all!

I've had a very busy and productive day. Got some pics, flock dynamic updates, and a story of rain that looks to be pouring.

Lets see, flock dynamics... All of the bantams are now free ranging during the day together. I've been keeping a close eye on them during the day, and so far them are working out great. General is #1, A'pollo is #2, and both of them seem happy with that arrangement. With them all being full grown or close to it, I'm much more comfortable having them out on the grass. Plus I feel like there is safety in numbers. There's plenty of shrubbery and stuff for them to hide under. Tomorrow or Sunday I'm hoping to build them a feeding station/shelter for a more permanent option.

I split the Cornish X from the rest of the youngsters. They are still in sight of each other, but the CX is in it's own fixture so I can move it daily for fresh grass. It's got about 2 more weeks to go.

The remaining youngsters went in the parrot cage. I've been working on it most of my day. Trying to turn it in to a little bird condo. I'm not intending to keep these birds in here long, but I do want to still use the cage later on. I'll post some pictures of it here soon. :D

I'm off to wash the dirt and saw dust off of me and eat a plate of food. I'll be back with something to look at and more to read. ;)
