I had to rescue a Runner from the big bad vine monster this morning. One of the drakes apparently lassoed himself under 1 leg, up around the wing and them spun around tightening it down. At first it looked like just his foot was caught. He was pretty calm, letting me help him out. As soon as he was free he went all quackers on me lol.

Thanks. His blood pressure is pretty high but thankfully that's it. He is to stubborn, thinks he is going to end up out today, I doubt it though as it was high last night.
A man, in the hospital, stubborn? I couldn't even imagine. In all seriousness I do hope he's okay. Here's a story of my own hospital stubbornness.

I once wanted to go for a walk while in recovery. It was part of my PT but I was in no condition to walk. A technician that I had already had a dispute with, told me "You can't even get out of bed." In my head the theme song of braveheart started playing and I was determined to prove her wrong.

I had 3 IVs in each arm, a tachymeter attached, 2 pumps going to my wounds, and 2 JP drains. I finally got to my feet and was so weak I almost collapsed where I stood. It just about put me back in the OR.

My nurse, Donna. She was a blessing to the industry. She was a large framed woman who could easily pick up a large framed man (which I'm not). She came in and saw what was going on and tore in to me like my mother. She had to pick me up and basically tuck me in to bed.

I never saw that tech again. A week later Donna told me she requested the tech be removed from my service. "I can't have you standing up everytime you don't like something. Now let's go for a walk."

I loved Donna. She put me through more pain via wound care than the surgery itself did. The pain was so bad my heart would spike to 220bpm most times. She'd come in with her supplies and I'd give her a grumpy old man routine while she gave me a stern nurse routine. Then proceed to torture me, at least that what I'd accuse her of. In the end though it was just something to help me get through the pain and she'd happily play along. She'd always stick around and just chat with me and make sure I was okay. After being under her care for 4 weeks, we became quite close.

So... again, I could never imagine your dad being stubborn and wanting to go home. ;)
