Oh no!! I hope you at least get some girls!!

I know the feeling of getting all boys and/or terrible ratios though! My Thanksgiving hatch I literally got 8/9 boys. only one girl out of the whole hatch!

Like you, I thought I had more girls since I had a few hard to sex ones, and thought I could potentially have 2-4 girls at least and was getting excited because at least that’d be better than 1 but NOPE. All boys except one.

I wanted to keep all the girls too. Instead, I’m now keeping all the boys.

Lost 2 of them but still have 6 plus the girl. Just keeping everybody for now.

But I literally got a 90% cockerel rate.

I was expecting and prepared for 50/50, hell even 75%, but not 90.

Hah! I feel you there. Last year I hatched a batch of serama eggs. Six hatched in total - 5 out of 6 were boys. Which is why I only have one female and one male serama.

Thats would be devistating ! Unless they were meet birds but leghorns are skinny egg layers right?

Yeah, Mediterranean breed so pretty scrawny haha great layers though.

Oh wow!! I think past year was the year of the boys there was someone here that hatched a bunch of drakes last year too right? Was it @Miss Lydia ?? Maybe this year will be the year of the girls.

I think if I hatch though I’m going to hope for broodies and let them do the work haha

It was certainly year of the boys. They're average size for chickens around here, but we probably have different standards. I didn't even know you could get white leghorns till like 2 months ago

Yeah, I think it depends. Just “theoretically” they’re smaller but my girl has been filling out a lot lately! LOL she is still smaller than the other girls though or at least like a narrower/lighter frame and build but she’s still comparable size wise to the other girls. Not like bantam size or anything but not a moose like my Australorps and Delaware.

And oh yes!! They’re very popular here haha them and sex links. At least with commercial egg places. I haven’t tried sex links yet but I want to. Although I’m nervous about the possible reproductive issues.

Hatching non-breeding dux is the second best thing to hatching none..
