I see emu eggs advertised over here at 70$ each. That's one expensive breakfast.
Does make it seem a luxury doesn't it? We had 100s of birds in the 90s when there was no demand for eggs. Any eggs not suitable for incubating went straight in the kitchen.
How long does it take a emu to get full grown/eating size.
This is a good question! I want to say between 1 and 2. The ones we put on the trucks were fully grown so they'd have been that old. As for eating size... they don't take long to get to the size of a turkey. But besides the legs there would be no meat on them.
