Colour. I'm not the one to ask on how to pronounce that word because I've never been able to say it

I think you could handle the way we pronounce it. Whenever I hear one of youse say it .... I have to pause and think, oh yeah Aluminum. I think you add about 2-6 syllables to it.

I can spell it how we say it but I can't spell it to save my self. If I try say it it is "Allominium"

I can't recount all the bar conversations about how we pronounced words differently. I do know that I favored my AU and NZ over the Brits. Lets just say it was fun.

I use to play Scrabble with an Elderly woman who immigrated here from New Zealand. I thought she was from England until she told me she was from New Zealand.

and...

We had a next door neighbors from England. A guy from Australia I had “met” on a fishing board was Coming here to the USA, I offered to take him fishing.

He met and was talking to our neighbors, one of the first thing he said to her was, “I hear that English accent”.

I could not tell any difference in their accents. They all claimed I was wrong.

Did you know a western Aussies accent is different to the east? Then deep inland and north is different again (thats the one they poke fun at in tv shows etc) I guess like your great land where each state has an accent, we do too.
