The Quack Shack

After googling I found hunting in Australia is “complicated” and where you lived depends on what you can hunt. Emu being protected some place and free to hunt in others.
It's not protected! You can hunt all year on emus and kangaroos. Just need tags. Interesting fact, its illegal to hunt them with a bow and arrow

I understand Emu are edible. Is there a season on them? Can you trap or snare them? Shotgun or rifle?

They look yummy.
Husband uses some form of rifle. Shot guns don't kill emus really. Dad tried to euthanise one with a bung leg, it just put a couple holes in its neck and it lived another 3 years

.... why is emu only one listed as cooked? And a number say raw? some nutritional facts of game meat. Apparently bunny is the way to go

Okay, in my state its illegal, maybe not whole country. Alot of novice try and fail and leave animals walking around with arrows sticking out. I only know one person that knows how to hunt with a bow and boy is he skilled. Hunts deer and pigs. (Yep, we have wild deer. And the worlds largest herd of wild camel)
