Survival instinct is to buddy up with the hand that feeds them. I have 2 or 3 bubba roos in this mob. The big laced wyandotte is a meanie so no problems eating him. The little white hamburg is too friendly to be a hen. Would follow me up and into the house if a hawk didn't swoop down and get him.

Apparently I don't take pictures often of my birds anymore.

Hi everybody, hope your day has been or will be good. Busy here at the ranch, feeding ducks, watering cows. The fall ducklings went under the sorting hat today. I could only find two drakes. I was sure there were three. So sent those two off to finishing school. Bought a Charlie Brown CHristmas tree but at least it was half price. Making Christmas Chili today and getting it over with. Tomorrow I'm going to try making Sauerkraut. Also have to figure out what to do with all these lemons. I still have at least a hundred. I made Limoncello last year but never tasted it so don't know if I want more. I still have preserved lemons that I made last year but I use those pretty regularly.

I'd love to have your problem... I just bought more lemons and limes to keep in the fridge. Made pico degio to go with my Chicken Tortilla soup.

I love tortilla soup. I also cut my first Cara Cara Orange today. Its a cross between red grapefruit and an orange. Tastes like a sweet grapefruit. the tree is still small so only 3 oranges this year. I the the frost killed my variegated lemon which is a naturally pink lemon. Time will tell.

Remember.I'm in Texas. Its traditional here to have tamales at Christmas. So much so there are pop up stands and restaurants take advance orders for them. So we always have tamales on Christmas Eve. I like chili with my tamales. Sometime ill tell my airport tamale story or how i almost spent Christmas in jail.
