By that logic they should only be $32. Think it has alot more to do with we get paid one of the highest wages thus pay some of the highest prices for goods. I know plenty that have jumped the ditch to NZ because it's far more affordable
If that’s true......well.. it would seem minimum wage laws would drive up the cost of goods....

Hmmmm.. interesting... I think someone is lying to me..

It is exactly as you said: Raise the minimum wages and prices will go up a little later!
I have seen it happening in Europe in the early 2000's:
  • First my employer decided that Support and Education is too expensive to be kept in Germany, they got rid of the expensive colleagues and moved their departments to Hungary, employing minimum wage employees.
  • Guess what: After a short time the Hungarian government decided to introduce minimal wage laws and the prices went up. - So my employer got rid of the now too expensive Hungarian colleagues and moved on to Romania.
  • Again after a short time those nasty Romanian Politicians introduced minimal wage laws, the story repeated and the company moved on to India.
  • Fast forward just one year and the local Indian Government introduced minimum wages…
  • Now our support and education is located somewhere in rural China, driven by people who never learned the English language properly ["Me Ping, me ere to elp yu."] and the local authorities are loudly thinking about minimum wages…
  • (Imho) had they kept Support and Education in Germany they could have saved a lot of money and avoided a lot of trouble (and business loss) with our customers.
But fact is, that there is a balance between wages and prices. Wages go up, prices will go up. Prices go up, people will demand that wages go up too.
In the end there will always be some month left at the end of the money…

Good Afternoon, Evening Night, Morning or Day to every inhabitant of the blue marble planet!

@Magnolia Ducks, we had -6° (21F) last night and the Ducks had a party outside in their run!
My duck Smaug (the fire spitting dragon) is squeaking since she went broody last summer, her quack has returned only recently. But she's fine otherwise. It seems they can injure their voice-boxes (or fold them backward?) when they are too agitated and it needs some time to get back to normal.

@duluthralphie master 9 was just watching a show called odd squad (crime fighting kids against weird vilians) and the Ducks are evil!!! They raised a human boy as one of their own and he made a voice box to comunicate with them. To cut to the chase first they were taking over ponds one at a time by chasing people out of parks but then they had to fly south for the winter. So they showed him their plan to make a machine to move the earth closer to the sun so that it would never be winter again!!! That's nuts!
