I'll be done with the mortgage here in ~2 years, can't wait...
I envy you for all that flat land you have! I'd buy a small tractor and start a ginormous garden with the ducks!
And i envy you for that fiber-internet! How fast are the uploads?

I am still convinced that this one is a Rouen. Not all Rouens have two eye-stripes...When they are both standing the Fawn and White Runner is actually a tiny bit taller than the other one. The Rouen Ducklings with the double eye stripes in the bin in the store were much bigger than this one and this one is lacking that double eye stripe is what I was going by. They should all be the same age more than likely because Hoover Hatchery shipped them out together and they had just gotten them when I picked these two out. What type did you think it was if not a Mallard Frank? Just curious.
Mr. Peaduck seems to have wandered off, his flight feathers have grown out during the last weeks and he was able to really fly again, so maybe he has flown south as it has gotten somewhat colder and wetter here.So glad to hear that all of your flock is alright and that the bird of prey did not get anybody. It sounds like a busy day with all of that going on. I hope your last duckling does well along with the one with the blister. Now that it has popped hopefully it will heal nicely and everything will be good. That bird of prey will probably return and I pray that Mr. Peaduck is alright wherever he is.
That is really fast! Here i have 3MIB per second in the downstream and 192KiB when uploading. But, hey, better than dial-up...
Sooooooo absolutely precious!!! I am glad that they have each other. I never have grit in my container so I don't give mine any treats until they are older and outside but they don't seem to mind.Mr. Peaduck seems to have wandered off, his flight feathers have grown out during the last weeks and he was able to really fly again, so maybe he has flown south as it has gotten somewhat colder and wetter here.
Blister duckling is doing fine, i am treating its foot with the Antibiotics creme and the new friend really has lifted its spirit:
It also has developed a taste for tomatoes and butternut squash - yes, and cat-food![]()
They barely eat but neither did my Rouen and Fawn and White one that I lost. I was concerned that they were not eating enough but they grew just fine and were quite healthy until the terrible incident. They run all over in their enclosure and are doing well regardless of how much food they are eating. I guess I will just have to wait and see how big it grows to be and that will let me know whether it is a Rouen or Mallard. I just didn't know if anyone had ever had a Mallard Runner Duck if that is what it is. That is what they told me but you know how that goes from a Hatchery, lol. Thanks Frank.I am still convinced that this one is a Rouen. Not all Rouens have two eye-stripes...
Just wait for a couple of days and see how the little one develops. Does it have a ravenous appetite? That says Rouen...

Are you meaning mallard coring on a runner duck? here is a list of all the colors Runners come in.They barely eat but neither did my Rouen and Fawn and White one that I lost. They both have been running around my feet outside an in the duck-house while i was doing duck duties, so i assume there's already some grit in their stomachs.Sooooooo absolutely precious!!! How old are they? - Usually little duckies don't start to eat until day three or so. But then everything's fair game…They barely eat but neither did my Rouen and Fawn and White one that I lost. Is the school still operational? If not do you have plans for the building?Thank you. We have 5 acers, and of course the huge school house building too. And the best part is the sale of the house in town paid it off.
