Just make sure you don't get Australian muscovy and you'll be fine. Sorry to hear about Milka duck.

Its like an echidna and a guinea pig had a babyIt's a good thing ducks are so messy with their food...
This little guy was born in the summer most likely (being so small) and will hopefully survive the winter in the big pile of used duck straw -- it's insulation and also warmth as it slowly breaks down into compost. I'll move the ducks' main food station closer to the pile so the little hedgie doesn't have to walk around much during cold weather.

That's pretty much the same as we have here in WV. Including the weird exceptions of the last years, like snow-showers in early May almost killing off the tomato-plants and this weird last week of October, where we are around 10°(50F) during the night and more than 20°(68F) during the day. I need to turn my patio back into a greenhouse/sunroom by the end of the week, the first overnight frost is predicted for November 1st.There is usually a pronounced cold spell between mid January and mid February, normally we get around -10 C overnight, 0 over the day for a straight week or two during that period. But in the recent years we have been surprised both on the upside (spring temps during the normally cold period) and the downside (-20 C overnight).
