yes yes! I always count back how many weeks its been since dec 21 ( 8 weeks now) and I double that (16 weeks) and say "the worst/darkest 16 weeks (or the worst approx 4 months) of winter darkness are past! Hallelujah, ducks!!
Is it that bad in Maryland? - Here in West Virginia it usually feels like spring by the end of February and the first vegetables can be planted outside by the end of March…

oh ok you have to add it to the gallery :) I just did one to try it I posted a 5 second duck vid into the gallery directly from my laptop
How did you upload a video to your gallery? I tried that after reading that BYC now accepts videos somewhere and my file was refused.

Hey Im pasting my unanswered duck forum thread here in hopes someone here may be familiar with this kind of "whisper quacking" I do hope it doesnt mean she is getting sick
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/why-is-willow-whisper-quacking.1611620/
How is Willow Duck doing in general? Does she behave like a healthy duck, is she eating, drinking, ducking, running around with the others? Does she lay eggs? And how old is Willow?
One thing i learned is that Ducks are very individual. Some of my ducks don't like to eat their greens, some would die for them. I have one Indian Runner duck who does not quack at all. She makes a sweet, soft squeaky sound instead of a quack. And the smallest of my ducks, Violeta, a tiny Buff Orpington has the loudest QUACK of them all.
Mayhem Drake's rasping sounds like somebody is crumpling paper and when Boots rasps it sounds like somebody is using a hacksaw on a stud.
If Willow behaves like a healthy duck, she may just have a softer voice.

Now from where did Poppy acquired her aspergillosis? Has Willow been exposed to the same source?

To me it is bad personally I hate short days and not enough sunshine is depressing and I always feel bad for the ducks too

Willow is one year old . Yes she is laying. She is acting fine eating etc. I think the whisper quack is just her stressing over waiting for Poppy to come out of the little crate I nebulize her in. Yet I get concerned if any other ducks show any sign of possible aspergillosis . You see I bring Willow (or sometimes another friend) inside with Poppy at night to my ducky hospital room so that Poppy isnt alone. I give Poppy Oxine AH solution by nebulizer in a small crate at 6 pm at 4 am and at 10 am then I let her out with other ducks for the rest of the day.

A few months ago I had got some straw from a place that smelled a little musty and didnt notice it at first, all the ducks were exposed.
AFter I realized it could hurt the ducks I cleaned it all out and got straw somewhere else. I mix in some pine flakes too.
Poppy started coughing Dec 7th and I went through a whole bunch of speculating what could be wrong until deciding it must be aspergillosis. Her thread is lengthy but heres a link
