The Quack Shack

We keep them in grape troughs (with high walls :) in the kitchen for the first 10-14 days, then off they go to the garage to spend their time in large apple crates.

When you come in the garage in the morning and the duck(ling)s are all sitting on the shelves outside of the crates we know it's time to call the interested buyers.

I still don't know what to do about my rhubarb plants in the garden, but this is what my living room looks like since yesterday evening:

The less temperature sensitive seedlings are still on the patio:

Sunny Sunshine is angry with me: I don't let her nap on the patio, she would have a blast digging through those pots…

Same here... 24 C over the day yesterday, 8 today, 5 now, -3 forecast in the morning.
We managed to escape the frost this time  Here's hoping for a serious fruit harvest, unaffected also by summer storms.

Had 1500 kg (3000-ish lbs) of apples last year, that was pretty good. The other bush and tree fruit are mostly support players but it's still a good idea to have a bit of everything, that way whathever the year happens to be like we'll most likely have *some*thing. Going into the 17th year now on this property.

So absolutely Precious!!!!

We will be in the low 20's F for the next two nights with cold days. I miss the heat!!! Mother Nature is not being nice right now.
Tell me about it! - It will be just cold enough to damage the plants had i not brought them inside or to the patio. Tonight and tomorrow, the Swiss Chards have joined the refugee camp:

Now it really looks like a jungle here…
