I just ordered 3 Sapphire Gems yesterday with a few other chicks. Ever since I saw them I knew I'd have to have a few. I can't wait to see them in person! I have such a soft spot for blue chickens.

She should be a very reliable layer; once my gem got into the swing of things she’s laid an egg six days out of seven!

I just started with these little beauties, and I am so excited to see them when they are feathered out and beautiful. I seen them at a local tractor supply and fell in love!

The very first egg was teeny tiny and a double yolker. It was a huge surprise. I'll be happy either way. I'm just stoked we started getting eggs this last week. Not regularly, but I'm happy with whatever we can get! All four SGs laid their first eggs between 16 and 17 weeks if that helps anyone waiting for this breed to lay.
