~The Sapphire Gem~ A Breed's Chat Thread

Pics
I have two sapphire gems. Elsa and Ana. They are very sweet, they started laying at about 16 weeks. They are 22 weeks now. Very sweet and friendly.
Both of them have combs that flop over. I’ve read that combs can just be too heavy and that it isn’t a problem. Just curious if everyone else has sapphire gem combs flopping over as well? Non of my other breeds do this.

I like my Sapphire so much I decided to order a batch of 15 . She is laying almost everyday by 16 weeks. She is friendly, and a voracious free-ranger. She goes in and out of the coop at will; very independent, smart, and maintenance free. On her second day free ranging, she let me know she needed back in to lay a late egg.

16 weeks + 2 days, my sassy girl Cersei layed her first egg this morning! Feeling extra happy that it was in a nesting box in the coop and not some random place in the run. This is my first egg EVER. I'm so full of joy!

Lovely girl, congrats on the egg!! :thumbsup
She should be a very reliable layer; once my gem got into the swing of things she’s laid an egg six days out of seven!
