I personally think splash silkies are gorgeous, that mottled color is amazing and is always in high demand.

Yep! Trying out a new bedding so will see how dry it keeps things

Fingers crossed that the bedding stays dry for you . Mine always ends up getting kicked about by the chickens.

I usually use Blue Frog bedding and that is great it’s just I’m fussy and like to try new stuff to see if it fairs any better!

I used to use Lay Soft (I think?) and it was alright except feathered feet birds don’t mix well with it. If it was even slightly damp the wood chippings would stick solid onto their feathers and I’d have to actually pluck the feathers out as soaking them never even got it out

This new one I’m trying is Rape Seed bedding and it’s quite dry in itself so I’ll see how it goes!

I’m currently having a nightmare with any cage that the male is in dry, I don’t know what’s wrong with him but all I can put it down to is that his metabolism is very high and he drinks a lot of water compared to all my other hens

might get a fecal to check for yeast? I had that problem and thats what it was
