Thoughts on my feeding method

How old is your flock, what is your egg production rate? How do your girls look? Are their feathers always nice and full, glossy? Are their combs always nice and full, bright red, good condition, leg color good? Any issues with aggression, feather picking? IMO, your feed is lacking in key nutrients. But, only you can make that assessment based on your bird's condition, their productivity, and their egg quality. A lot depends on the quality of your free range.

Lazy,
My chickens are always healthy and my previous flock was 2 yrs and my currant one is 1.5 and I'm ordering more chicks soon to arrive in April (I have 40 ATM plus 15 ducks and 4 geese) and besides I wouldn't feed this way if they weren't always healthy and as I said before the laying actually stays the same as feeding just pellets my freerance is excellent tons and tons of land snails, a Forest (in ak) with a lot of ifs and stuff to dig and scratch at and a lot of grass

RonP,
They are healthy and stay healthy so it is a good healhy diet,

That is why I offered a link to studies on nutritional requirements for free range birds that I thought you might find interesting...

But, if you are fine with what you are feeding, and feel that they are happy and healthy, why did you ask for other opinions in your original post?

They are your birds and of course you are free to feed what you believe is best for them.

No one knows your flock better than you. Enjoy them.

hello Ronp,
thanks for the link didn't see that before as i was on my cell phone but on the computer now in ill look at it thank you very much!!! the reason i asked for thoughts in the first place, is to see if anyone else had tried it before
