Hello,
So I have been raising Chickens, Ducks, And Geese, on this method for 5 years with absolutely no issues with their health or dropped production or excessive fat. I am just putting it out there and will not change my way of care but will consider any opinions and may add other supplements. Here is what I do: so I do not free feed my poultry, I give each chicken 1/2 cup of fermented cracked corn in the morning and 1/2 cup of whole corn in the evening, and I give each duck and goose 1 cup fermented cracked corn in the morning and 1 cup whole corn in the evening (this is ONLY my winter schedule) the following is my summer, and spring feeding schedule: each chicken gets 1/2 cup of a fermented mixture made
Of 1 part layer pellets 2 parts cracked corn fermented for 4 days then measured into the correct rations in the morning and 1/2 cup of whole corn in the evening, the ducks and geese get 1 cup of the fermented mixture in the morning and 1 cup of the whole corn in the evening. And everyone gets all of our table scraps (I mean everything even avocados and onions they never eat those anyway so they just end up working them into the ground anyway), they get to free range around 4 months out of the year, they get all the grit they need and some seeds and calf manna thrown to them every few days, and they get 14 hours of artificial lighting starting in September through April, an they also get all their egg shells sterilized, ground up and put in hoppers for them unlimited. Thanks for all opinions and "info"
