Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

in the middle pic.
thhe magpie looking at the camera is going to be a ham.
you can alreadyy see it. lol.
thats what a couple of mine do to the camera.
and maybe with the babies being with the geese (which btw did you name them?) they wont go thru a bad humans are murders phase.

Lol, my older ducklings are going through that now. I was planning on separating the calls and goslings in a week or so to give them more room, but you have a good point. I think I'll just put the brooders together instead.

yea since geese don't go thru that . so i hear atleast .
i thought it would help them.
i plan on keeping mine closely bonded.
we'll see how it works.
im hoping it does.
i want a lovely dovey duck!
i just want 1 that likes me for more than the goodies in the bowl. lol.

LIfe, yeah funny place.

If not fot the dark, the light would seem dim. IF not for the sun, the moon would seem insignificant in its delicate beauty. Without a few lost birds, we would not know the blessing of the survivors.

Hurts anyway, though, huh.

Well said.

ok I am back. still not happy but here. I lost another duck, the pekin. So now I have 2 hanging on but who knows for how long. I took pictures to show you how they look now. It looks gross, so if you don't want to look, please don't.

These are from my Buff and my Silver Appleyard drake. I hope they make it because they are very pretty

I wish you could too, Mama Stillmecle.

We love you.

(big hug)

Let me know if you change your mind on those Pekings..... I'd only charge you what I pay for shipping. I even have a 72 hours warming pad havn't used, so could send you fewer than 12....

I wish I could find some mandies somewhere close. I would buy them up

Thanks Marty. I have 20 pekin eggs I need to get in the incubator soon, I got them Thursday and then more yesterday, I am just letting them rest before trying to figure out where I am going to put them. My LG is full of Silkie Chicken and Cayuga eggs. And then I have the last 2 little babies in the Hovabator and I don't want to put anything in with them. I will have to disinfect it once they are out of it. I have sinus infection on top of all this and my eyes are draining and itchy and crying just made them wrose.

I wish Celtic was here to look at the two babies that are left and get her opinion on if they are going to make it or not They have alot of stuff to absorb yet and their little bellys are so swollen with the absorbation going on.

SM, I think Celtic will be checking in today as often as she can. Hang in there!

ETA: In the meantime, if you haven't already done so, answer all the questions she put in her post to you earlier. The more information she has about your set-up, the better she can help!

Question:

Your sinus infection, I get them alot... SO, if one of your bators had bad bacteria, or even worse, high temp tolerant molds or something, that could be why you HAVE a sinus infection, and also why your babies had a hard time. Seems clear your doing ok incubating, they were mostly formed, so not just a temp or humidity issue I think.

clean that incubator. I've held my duck eggs up to 10 days and still got above 50% hatches, so maybe yours can wait another day. I would definately use bleach water, but do rinse it off, because bleach on the egg shells could injure the preganant eggs.
