Some people believe fertile eggs are better for you health wise.
From what I have read of all the threads on this chilling eggs down is part of the practice of storing enough eggs during collection days to have enough to fill the hatcher. Of course when you do it yourself you need to follow some guide lines like storing them in the position that they would go in the hatcher... pointy end down, keeping the humidity way up and the temps around 50 degrees. I am going on recent reading so If I got anything wrong I am sure someone will chime in. The eggs can be stored this way about two weeks?
So take it one step further. Here is Trader Joes... or Grocery store of choice.... They get eggs in within a few days of laying they sell alot of eggs so hopefully everything gets rotated. There is quite a chance that most will still be viable, even at Refrigerator temperatures which run around 45 degrees (I used to work in a convenience store).
