There is really no way to make it so it can't get in short of covering everything in hardware cloth and I am not ready for that expenditure. I just have to hope they grow fast enough they don't become someone else's dinner before we are ready to eat them

Well I candled my hens eggs today they were down to 6 and none of them made it. That storm that flooded them did their eggs in. I felt bad for the girls they tried so hard.

I am jealous. I cannot wait for my Porters babies to get here!!! They should be here sometime in the second half of the month

What did you order from him? My Black turkey eggs from Porter did not fare as well as the Bronze. Out of 10 eggs, only 3 hatched. I really only wanted a tom to put over my Lavender hens next year but if I get hens, I can put them with my Lavender tom.

It's been about a week since I had to take the eggs away from my BR hen's and they still are not laying. They are still trying to brood "Nothing".
