I already saw that you are in Florida, but adding that to your profile will help other make suggestions without first having to ask.
I prefer to get the premixed ones like "horse fly spray" over the concentrates... as it really does last a long time and go a long ways. With 82+ birds, 2 large goats, and 3 medium dogs... a 32 oz bottle for under $8 at my local feed store lasted me 2+ years.... Nothing extra to store, find, or mix.
Please note, seems like I remember reading that it can be toxic to cats. There are many products available... I make sure to get one that only has permethrin as an active ingredient.
I use a cotton swab or q-tip when needed for delicate areas on or near the head... even on young chicks.
Permethrin is an effective product when used correctly. And it will have some residual effect as well. I would try to make a plan to interrupt the life cycle on your property somehow without creating resistance by using at incorrect intervals or when not needed. I am unfamiliar with stick tights and how to go about such thing with them. Good luck!
