Undereye Ticks on Duck - W/ PICS

Thank you for replying. Since it's a spray, will it be harmful if it gets in her eye? If not, could you maybe recommend somewhere good to buy it from?
If you have a tractor supply near you go get the Gordon's 10%. I'll look up the 0.5% dilution amounts for you.

Use a small syringe or q-tip and apply the liquid to the bugs around the eye. Spray the rest of the body.

I already saw that you are in Florida, but adding that to your profile will help other make suggestions without first having to ask. ;)

I prefer to get the premixed ones like "horse fly spray" over the concentrates... as it really does last a long time and go a long ways. With 82+ birds, 2 large goats, and 3 medium dogs... a 32 oz bottle for under $8 at my local feed store lasted me 2+ years.... Nothing extra to store, find, or mix.

Please note, seems like I remember reading that it can be toxic to cats. There are many products available... I make sure to get one that only has permethrin as an active ingredient.

I use a cotton swab or q-tip when needed for delicate areas on or near the head... even on young chicks.

Permethrin is an effective product when used correctly. And it will have some residual effect as well. I would try to make a plan to interrupt the life cycle on your property somehow without creating resistance by using at incorrect intervals or when not needed. I am unfamiliar with stick tights and how to go about such thing with them. Good luck! :fl

What the concentration on that?

That will work then, it just won't last as long as a bottle of the 10% concentrate.
And it still lasted me 2+ years with all the animals I listed above... used only as needed, mostly for lice. I bought it to combat mosquitoes for my goats and discovered the other chicken benefits.

I recently bought the concentrate... to treat my sons' house for termites. And a garden sprayer to go with it. I tried to use the garden sprayer for my birds but it put out an outrageous amount of product (no matter how I tried to adjust the nozzle) when all that is need is a small spritz. Since my original squirt bottle had the trigger fail by the end (or not pop back out when squeezed), I had to buy another spritz bottle to use for the diluted new product.

The "horse fly spray" must have something to make it smell good, because the concentrate smells like chemical where as the original bottle had more of a pleasant but not strong odor. :thumbsup

I'd go broke if I bought the quart bottle. While it will last a long time spraying the occasional bird, it goes very quickly when you start spraying coops and places where they might be picking up lice, mites, fleas, or ticks. Add a few horses and it goes really fast.

Oh, I bought the termite concentrate too, but use one of those hand held 1.5 gallon sprayers for around the house, but still use a 32 ounce bottle for birds.
