at least when that happens ur supposed to have a brooder.....nope dont have that either.....would have if tractor supply actually did their inventory, but in my opinion theyre kinda dumb...dont get me wrong its my favorite store, but everytime I REALLY REALLY need some theyre out and Im usually the one that bought the last one about a month earlier....plenty of time to go and order more! Anywho, I hear another one peeping, but I cant tell which egg it is, now the ones to hatch tonight and the ones to hatch next week are all mixed together! I DID have them on opposite sides of the bator lol Shoulda known that wasnt gonna happen

edited to say: I didnt even turn my eggs tonight.....i think little ms chirp chirp took care of that. Maybe not as good as I would have, but all well, I figure they probably need a break!

quick question? I had a pip start this morning and nothing much has really happened all day. A piece of shell has broken off but the membrane (I think? it's white and grey so I don't think it broke through) is still there. Do you think it quit? The other babies have been climbing over the eggs and since then there hasn't been much action. Today is day 21 and not even a squeek from the welsummer eggs... are they slow?

from pip to zip can take up to twenty four hours. My welsummers hatched on day 21 and day 22. Dont open bator. If temp were a little low could delay some. Give more time they are just now to the right day.

one of mine is pipped, but I cant see the membrane yet and since i noticed it an hour and a half ago, it hasnt moved or changed, the other is slowly progressing and I can see the membrane on that one and and poking/pecking near the membrane lol....i wouldnt have thought anything of any of this if my first chick hadnt of hatched like a little speedy gonzales! Im not worried, I just want her to have someone to play with!

hey hon the fast ones can spoil you but by my experience the fast ones are the rarity. Keep sitting on hands they work then they sleep then work then sleep.
